OUR PERSONALIZED, MASTERY-BASED CURRICULUM

Students set daily academic learning goals using data based on knowledge and skills instead of an arbitrary, one-size-fits-all approach. Throughout the day, students work independently to complete their daily goals. During this time teachers provide support when needed and monitor students throughout the learning center.

WHAT IS MASTERY-BASED?

Each course (or KnowledgeUnit) is ten chapters in length and aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Each KnowledgeUnit consists of reference materials, learning objectives, vocabulary, lessons, quizzes, a practice test, and a unit test. Once you pass the mastery exam in the KnowledgeUnit students can move ahead to the next KnowledgeUnit. If you do not pass the mastery exam, you are allowed to review the concepts again and retake the mastery exam. This ensures that you have a full understanding of the academic concepts before you move forward.

ONCE YOU PASS ALL TEN MASTERY EXAMS,
YOU HAVE EARNED THAT ACADEMIC CREDIT.

Our learning program gives students the opportunity to take ownership of their education to create personal accountability and a sense of accomplishment.
